Generally, aging affects the capabilities of seniors to safely move around their homes and eve around the community. As a result, walkers are necessary in making easy their movement. Nevertheless, walkers used by the elderly come in different designs, for instance those with wheels and those without. Because their design is for variant but specified purposes, there is need to consider a Walker with big wheels to enhance your mobility.

Usually, the seniors may suffer from decreased balance, strength, vision, and other issues which can affect their ability to walk safely. But since the level of assistance and the needed support varies, there are also different types of walkers for the seniors. For instance, hemi-walkers are designed for seniors who have been fully or partially paralyzed on one side. These types of walkers are a one hand use. It is commonly used by elderly who have stroke on one side or those who have a surgery or fracture to their wrist, arm, collarbone or shoulder.

Another type of walker is the folding walkers. These are usually the simplest walkers the elderly can use. They usually have two handles, four legs without wheels. At the same time, the height is usually adjustable and can be folded in half. These types of walkers are usually ideal for elderly who need to put more weight on the walker such as those who cannot put so much weight on one or both legs since they had a knee surgery or a hip replacement.

Front wheel walkers is the other kind, also known as two-wheeled walkers. These are walkers that can be used by aged individuals just like other typical ones. Owing to the fact that they possess skids for hind legs with wheels to their front legs, they will slide easily.

The two wheel walkers are similar to the folding walkers and can be folded in half. This particular type is more ideal for the elderly who want to place some but not all weight on the walker. This type is also light weight, can be transported easily, and also slides on the floor. However, they are usually not ideal for the elderly who want to put so much weight on a walker.

The other type is the rollator walker also called four-wheeled walkers. These have four wheels, a basket, a seat, and brakes. In addition, they remain suitable for use outdoors and indoors with big wheeled ones being preferred for outdoor use as they can roll easily on uneven grounds.

Rollators are normally ideal for seniors who need walkers to aid in balancing. This kind is as well advantageous in that an elderly person who needs to carry a few items, sit, rest, as well as those needing security to walk because they will be able to clutch on them.

Another type is the 3 wheel walker which is similar to a rollator but has one less wheel and without a seat. They are also stable for both indoor and outdoor although they are not stable like the rollators due to the one less wheel. They are usually ideal for elderly with strength, balance, and endurance issue but who do not require the extra stability from other types of walkers like the rollators.
