Long Island Advertising Agencies: The Most Important Questions About Branding

By Rob Sutter

Before a company can truly kick off, it has to be properly branded. Any Long Island advertising agency will tell you that branding is one of the most important facets of the marketing game, so it should come as no surprise that this would be heavily focused on. With that said, there are many people that may not know what this is all about. For those that would like to learn about the service in question, here are a few questions that can be answered.

"What, exactly, is branding?" According to authorities on the matter like fishbat, branding is the strategy by which images and likenesses are created to promote products. Have you ever looked at white text on a red background and thought to yourself, "Isn't that Coca-Cola?" This is an example of branding at work, and to say that it works would be an understatement. It's a simple matter of how well strategies are followed through to the future.

"Aren't branding and marketing the same thing?" Contrary to what you may think, branding and marketing aren't exactly the same. On one hand, branding is tied to identity, meaning that your brand is what you are. Marketing, on the other hand, is tied to action. Ergo, it's meant to describe what you do, ranging from writing to SEO. These are just a few differences, but ultimately, to say that they are the same thing would be misleading.

"How do I build my brand?" Now that you know that branding is more visually-focused, there are numerous assets that have to be created. You should create a slogan, as this will help people remember or recognize you. You can go even further by creating a logo that catches the attention of others, even if they may not be in your target demographic. The more assets you create, and the sooner you finalize them, the strong your brand will be.

"How much does branding cost?" Simply put, as much as you'd like it to. Every branding strategy is different, meaning that yours is not going to look exactly the same as someone else's. Furthermore, you may have a tighter budget to work with, so you'll have to measure your expenses beforehand. Branding doesn't have a set cost, but if you know what you'd like to spend, you'll be able to determine just how much of an expense it will be.
