An Insight Into The Google Glass Product

By Rahmah Sajid

Imagine being able to have the freedom of going outside and being able to make use of the internet instantly for almost anything you can think of. Or maybe you saw something and would like to know more about. Perhaps you're in a foreign country and you're having trouble trying to make yourself understood. This helpful tool that you wear as regular glasses can help you access the internet instantly and find you a simplified version of referring to something or expressing yourself in the language spoken in that country.

Explorer's Reviews: According to technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones from the BBC News, he received mixed reactions while taking the Google Glass Technology for a spin in his home. His teenage son says: " You look like a complete idiot", his wife says: "Must you wear that thing?" and then he had that "Wow that's exciting!" reaction from a few of his colleagues.

The Google Glass device takes form in a convenient and discrete pair of spectacles. The screen placed before the wearer's eyes allows one to view all Google functions as if you were using a traditional computer monitor. The project is similar to a smartphone, but is completely hands-free allowing one to continue with everyday living while using the internet.

The freedom of having GPS anywhere you go, if you find yourself lost when driving, hiking, cycling or simply don't know you're way around a city and need directions. Google glass can be very useful in giving you directions on how to get where you would like to go. You can now send instant messages without having to text it, just dictate the message that you would like to send to your friends and family.

According to Barbara Ortutay from the Daily Star, while Google Glass is very useful in day to day activities, it seems to be very disruptive and would need reliable apps and internet connections to point out the ups and downs of Google Glass Technology. So far the future of the Google Glass Project is uncertain and perhaps it just may need a little more time to integrate into day to day living.
