Reputation Management 101

By Van Wildmost

Search engine optimization can do more than just promote your affiliate product, it can repair an online reputation. Reputation management is extremely difficult to do yourself, but not impossible. In order to repair your online image, you have to gain as much online real estate on the major search engines and push the negative reviews like ripoff report or similar sites to the second or third page. Some companies are really good at this, while some have no clue. If that someone is you, you may find this article very useful. I've looked at a couple companies that are doing great things, one in particular, Veritas Inc Atlanta. The Veritas Inc reviews are not great. However, they are in the process of getting some great results. In this article, I will explain what they have been doing.

To gain a positive image through reputation management, you have to get online searches to look more positive. Check out this example of Veritas Inc Atlanta at Veritas Inc Atlanta on YouTube. It's a great example of relevant and cool info that people love. If there are negative search results that show up under your company name, people will click on those. People love negative news more than positive news. People look for things like bad reviews, negative reports, ripoff reports, scams, etc. They are actually searching for these terms online right now.

This in itself makes reputation management efforts very difficult. Once your personal name or your company's name gets listed on ripoff report, scam sites, or complaints discussion boards, it can be very difficult to get people to click on the results that are anything besides those reports. Difficult does not mean impossible. Veritas Inc Atlanta has discovered a way to rise above the complaints and negative reviews. The company has been able to display themselves in a more positive image to people looking for their company.

Veritas Inc Atlanta is putting a ton of content out there, all original, to help take over the search engines. All of this content is optimized for the company's name. This sounds a little basic, but how many business owners don't optimize their pages for their company's name? The answer would astound you. Most business owners are trying to create leads with their pages. They are only optimizing their sites for their products or services out there. So be sure that you optimize your company's name, or your own name for that matter, on some content.

Backlinks will always be king. They serve as 'votes' in the eye of Google and can really help your pages rise through the search engine results. It is important to note, however, that several of these negative review sites like ripoff report don't have any backlinks to specific pages. That means that the owners of the sites aren't trying to optimize each page. This is your competitive advantage. Gain backlinks to your main page of course, but target specific pages as well.

Web 2.0 sites and high ranking profiles like Facebook and Youtube can all do very well in the search engines for your company's name. If you haven't already, go set up a ton of these profiles. Then wait. After you see which ones are doing well in the searches, shoot some backlinks their way and give them some love. You can even use those social networking sites and profiles to get your articles and content out there.

Although it takes a lot of time and energy to create content and gain backlinks, it will be worth your effort in the long run. Reputation management companies are all doing this and making a killing at it. Just like your reputation takes a long time in the real world to get better, it also takes a long time online as well. Veritas Inc Atlanta has spent many months putting content out there and it is working. They are following the steps mentioned above. Just do your research, put forth the work, and watch things get better. Good luck!
