Creating a profitable e-mail list is not something that will magically occur. A secret method also does not exist that only a few people are aware of. Insider secrets? None of these either. Even if there are some, it really doesn't matter in regard to building your list. If you really want to make money on the Internet, with email marketing, a solid foundation is your key to success. The key to building a highly profitable list is using techniques that have been tested and have produced results. When a new shiny method pops up, we usually jump on that bandwagon, forgetting all the solid techniques that really work. Still, the tried and true are tried and true for a reason. You actually don't have to send your emails at any particular time of day. The fact is your email will have a good chance of getting read, if it is well written. There are some individuals who swear that some times and days are better than others for sending out email blasts. Mull over this: wouldn't people be sending their emails concurrently, if there was truly a "perfect" time to send out emails? And subsequently, wouldn't your email end up in the confusion of all the others that were also sent at the same time? Send your emails when you need to send them. The date or specific times are irrelevant when sending a message. Don't ever utilize the free email blast contributors. Typically, though, these services are not worth even being free. They'll create a new language to your emails. They'll send them out at the wrong times. That's because the email that goes out to which group is completely up to you. Testing might not seem important but it is what will tell you which methods and emails work the best at getting a good reader response. A special list with people who have agreed to test your messages can be set up. People adore providing feedback and you might as well use it. You always need to work at building your list. It can be tempting to stop the push for opt-ins when your list gets big. After all, if you have hundreds of people subscribing to you, you don't still need more people do you? Of course you do! When you wake up, your priority should be focusing on building your list even bigger than before. When people subscribe, others may unsubscribe. It's a vicious cycle! This alone is worth the fifteen minutes to a half an hour you spend each morning encouraging people to opt in to your list. Since people will continue to unsubscribe, to keep your list from disappearing, you need to keep working at it.

The list service provider you sign up with should have amazing customer service. You want to be able to talk to a real person if you run into problems. This doesn't have a lot to do with direct selling, but it does help you make sure that every email you send out actually gets to where you want it to go.

It's easy to try and work overtime to attempt to fix things when your sales and subscriber numbers start falling. You'll only antagonize people. Going back to basics is the only way to fix those numbers. You have a good foundation in place for a very good reason, right? You'll be surprised at how quickly you can recover once you concentrate on applying what worked for you in the beginning.
