Learning How To Grow Your Blog

By Shirley Cox

Once you have your blog set up with a domain and you think that the audience are going to enjoy reading your content, you may be thinking that you can sit back and watch the page views escalating. However, unfortunately, it doesn't work like this. Learning how to grow your blog is essential, otherwise it will just be lost out there.

It can take time in the initial stages learning how to draw people towards the website. You have to ask yourself why people want to read the content instead of something that someone else has written. It is something that everyone struggles with. However, over time, you will find the answer. It is different for everyone.

However, one shouldn't focus too much on the appearance of the site. There is a lot of marketing that one should rather attend to. You can always come back to the blog and make this more attractive. In the beginning, you need to make a plan, which can come in the form of brainstorming because you have to decide what works best for you.

You need to decide more on the audience and who is going to be viewing your content. When it is a middle aged audience who are looking at images of food and decorating, you will want to place images on Pinterest and Instagram. These are good social media networks to think about because they contain images. Twitter won't be effective in a case like this because you don't want to describe recipes.

To grow your blog faster, it can be a good idea to network with other blogs. A lot of people see this as competition. However, this is not true because you can do a lot for the growth of your blog by exchanging ideas with blog owners. You can post articles on blogs which are well known. At the bottom you will say who you are and where you can be found.

Images can help with the sharing or social media. They usually catch the attention of people a little more. There may be certain things that you want to emphasize and you will use various methods to make these areas stand out more than others. You can tell people about something specific in a newsletter. You can refer them to the post from your social media post.

Bloggers who are pushy, creating pop ups when a person logs onto the site will send their subscribers away. You can't force people to join your social media page or to sign up with them. However, you can subtly encourage someone to share. You can add sharing buttons with a slogan underneath the article.

The content that you publish is very important. It shouldn't just be something that fills up the page and gives the person some form of entertainment. You need to think about what you are going to read about. It should really stand about, being unique from other blogs, and this is why more people will be drawn to your content. You can look for popular keywords which people are searching for. This will tell you more about what people want to know about and what they want to read about.
